You were invited. Here’s what to expect.
If a family member is settling an estate and invited you to The Executor Hub, this page explains exactly what you will and won’t see, and what you don’t need to do.
How it works.
There’s nothing to install and no account to create. The whole experience is three things:
- 1
You receive an email
It comes from updates@theexecutorhub.com and contains a private link just for you. Save it somewhere or just open it when it arrives.
- 2
You click the link
The link signs you in directly — no password to remember. You’ll see a quiet, chronological timeline of updates about the estate.
- 3
You read at your own pace
Each new update arrives as a new email. The full timeline always lives at your private URL — revisit anytime you want to recheck a detail.

Subject: New update on the Smith family estate
The probate filing is in.
The probate filing went through on Monday. The court hearing is scheduled for the 23rd. Bank accounts are frozen as expected — we’ll have access once letters testamentary are issued, probably late this month.

View full timelineWhat you’ll see, and what you won’t.
- Plain-language updates about milestones — probate filing, court hearings, asset transfers, closing the estate.
- Dates of when those updates were posted, in chronological order.
- The names of other family members the executor has added (so you know who’s in the loop).
- Financial figures, account numbers, or asset values.
- The task checklist or any administrative detail.
- The will, beneficiary details, or anything legally private.
- Other family members’ email addresses or contact information.
Why it’s set up this way.
Settling an estate is hard work for the executor. They’re often a son, daughter, or sibling who has lost the same person you have — and on top of grief, they’re handling probate filings, banks, government agencies, and a long list of paperwork.
Most executors describe getting the same questions, from multiple family members, multiple times a week. That’s exhausting to answer well during a hard season. The Executor Hub gives them a quiet place to write once and reach everyone.
The read-only timeline is a small kindness with a big effect: family members get the same information at the same time, on a private page they can revisit whenever they want. The executor doesn’t have to be the bottleneck. You don’t have to feel like you’re pestering them.
Your privacy.
Your data isn’t sold
We do not share, sell, or use your information for advertising. Your email is used only to send the updates the executor posts.
Your link is private
Each family member receives a unique link. We can rotate or revoke a link if needed — just ask the executor.
You can opt out
Tell the executor and they can remove you from the estate. Your email is deleted from our system shortly after.
You see only what’s shared
Other family members can’t see your email. The executor controls who’s invited.

Frequently asked questions.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. You'll receive a private link by email when the executor invites you. Click it and you're in. There's no password to create or remember, no app to install. Whenever a new update is posted, you'll get an email; that email also contains your link back to the timeline.
- What will I actually see?
- A chronological list of updates the executor has posted, with the most recent at the top. Each update has a date, a short title, and a few paragraphs of plain language about what's happening. You won't see financial figures, the task checklist, or any other administrative detail — only what the executor has written for the family.
- Can I message the executor through the system?
- Not directly. The timeline is read-only by design — we found that adding messaging features added pressure for the executor to respond quickly during an already difficult time. If you have a question, write to the executor the way you normally would (text, email, phone). Your message stays in your normal channels.
- Can other family members see my email or contact info?
- No. Only the executor sees the list of invited family members. Each family member's link is private to them.
- How long will the timeline stay up?
- As long as the executor keeps the estate open — typically through the close of probate, often a year or more. After that, the executor can choose to keep the historical record available or close it; either way you'll be notified.
- Is my data shared or sold?
- No. We don't sell information to anyone, ever. Your email is used only to send you the updates the executor posts. See our privacy policy for the full details.
A small note about the family member you lost.
We’re sorry. The person handling the estate isn’t hiding anything from you; they’re working through a long, careful process to honor that person’s wishes. This timeline is how they let you in on that work without having to repeat themselves.
If you have questions about a specific update, write to the executor directly — they’ll know it’s you.
